Never to be someone to sit still and not have a project or a plan in sight, my love of technology has brought me to the world of Pinterest, Bullet Journals and Blogging. As a new retiree, creating this blog is my outlet for sharing my 2.0 experience and I hope to share that experience with a community of fellow retired or thinking of retiring friends.

  1. I was born and raised in a suburb just north of Manhattan. After graduating high school, I went to the Fashion Institute of Technology (SUNY) and worked in the garment district for several years. In 1976 I married my husband Mel and two years later we were blessed with one and then two years later another little girl. Robyn and Chrissy are all grown up now with families of their own and have their own online marketing business called They are truly clever, creative moms who impress me all the time.

  2. I have been married to my husband Mel for over 40 years. He has always been my love and support in everything I do. He’s a sales representative for a promotional advertising company, Brown & Bigelow and he also has an online presence — I am officially now a Jersey Girl, moving with my husband’s job to Northwest New Jersey in 1981 as he took the opportunity to take over a large territory in the Northern part of the state.

  3. After being a stay at home mom,  I started a part time job in a preschool in charge of all of the arts and crafts portion of the curriculum. I soon caught the education bug and went back to school in my 30’s and got a Bachelors’ degree in Elementary education. After 5 years at the preschool, I got a job teaching kindergarten at a public school. I also taught fourth grade and then sixth. Two master’s degrees later, one in Educational Technology and another in Educational Leadership, I took a position as an Elementary Math & Science Supervisor in the district where I had taught. I finished the last 8 years of my career as a Director of Human Resources/Staff Development in two New Jersey Public School districts.

  4. I have four amazing grandchildren– Joshua, Ava, Evan and Zoe. My older daughter Robyn has two boys and my younger daughter Chrissy has two girls. Being their Grammy is one of the best parts of my life and retirement has given me the chance to spend more time with them.

  5. I am a Sweet Adeline. I sing tenor for the award winning Hickory Tree Chapter of Sweet Adelines International. I also sing soprano with my church choir. Music is a big part of both my husband’s and my life. You can often hear one of us practicing somewhere in the house.

  6. I am obsessed with the Outlander books and the Outlander TV series. I started reading the books before a trip to Scotland. I am Scottish on my paternal grandfather’s side and have read and listened to all 8 books and have watched all of the episodes of the TV series and am not embarrassed to say more than once. Last Halloween I also made costumes for my husband and I —we were “Outlander extras”. Crazy I know, but we all need an escape every once in a while.

  7. I love to sew and create. I enjoy searching Pinterest, always looking for my next project.

Now that you know a bit about me, I hope that you will find this blog an inspiration and most of all a help as you enter your life 2.0.
